TY Logistics Opens Grade-A Hub to Boost West African Trade
TY Logistics Park FZE has officially commissioned its state-of-the-art Grade -A logistics facility located within the Alaro Free Zone, Lekki, Lagos, marking a major milestone for Nigeria’s logistics and trade infrastructure development.
Built to international standards and designed as a fully integrated contract logistics platform, the park introduces a new operational benchmark for warehousing, inventory management, and regional distribution in West Africa.
The facility is positioned to accelerate regional trade efficiency and modernise supply chain operations across Nigeria and West Africa.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman of TY Logistics Park FZE, Theo Danjuma Jr, described the project as a fulfilment of a vision birthed three years ago.
“Our Chairman at TY Holdings made a bold and forward-looking decision to invest in land here in Alaro City with the vision of creating a purpose-built, Grade-A logistics platform that would redefine how goods move across Nigeria and West Africa. Today, that vision stands before us,” he said.
“Under the leadership of our CEO, Arno Van Der Merwe, TY Logistics Park FZE now delivers full contract logistics solutions to FMCG, electronics, automotive parts, fashion, pharmaceuticals and several other sectors.”
Danjuma highlighted that the logistics park offers end-to-end supply chain solutions, including clearing and forwarding, inventory management, import/export processing and route-to-market services.
He added that the facility operates a smart digital ecosystem and advanced Warehouse Management System, enabling real-time stock control, full inventory transparency and seamless high-volume order handling.
Located close to the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the park is expected to deliver faster cargo movement through duty deferment, tax optimisation and optimized import–export operations.
“Beyond infrastructure, our true focus is partnership,” Danjuma noted. “We see ourselves as an extension of our clients’ business, handling logistics complexities so they can focus on growth, brand expansion and increasing market share.”
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu,
reaffirmed the State’s commitment to enabling private-sector-led industrial growth, noting that the Lekki axis is becoming Africa’s new manufacturing and logistics powerhouse.
Sanwo-olu praised TY Holdings for believing in Lagos’ economy and contributing to industrial growth within the Lekki Free Zone corridor.
According to him, “This logistics park is not just an impressive development, it is a statement about where Nigeria is headed. It shows what serious-minded institutions can achieve when they place their bet on the country’s future,” he stated.
“Alaro City has now become one of the most preferred industrial destinations in Sub-Saharan Africa, and investments like this will continue to shape our economic journey.”
Sanwo-Olu disclosed ongoing infrastructure plans, including a new seven-axle access route to reduce cargo congestion, and reiterated Lagos’ position as Nigeria’s number one destination for investment and ease of doing business.
He further projected that the success of the new facility would trigger future expansion phases as demand rises.
Also speaking at the event is the
Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State commended the initiative, describing it as a platform that will foster economic ties between Taraba and Lagos.
“This valuable initiative will bring development and progress to Nigeria and Africa. We are proud to be part of this success,” he said, expressing optimism for strengthened agricultural and trade connections between both states.
