Transit Support Services Ltd. (TSS Motors) has introduced the locally assembled Forland T5 mini truck, aimed at reducing the high cost of last-mile delivery and improving efficiency in Nigeria’s logistics and distribution sector.

The new truck range, assembled at the company’s Enugu plant, is designed to provide businesses with a cost-effective solution for the final stage of product delivery, which is widely regarded as the most expensive and complex segment of the supply chain.

Speaking on the launch, TSS Senior Sales Executive, Blessing Aluh, said the Forland T5 was developed to address the growing demand for affordable and reliable delivery vehicles.

She noted that the truck’s low maintenance cost and fuel-efficient design would help operators significantly reduce operating expenses while improving delivery efficiency.

“The much-awaited solution has come to Nigeria. The Forland T5 is specially adapted for last-mile delivery because of its low maintenance cost. It is guaranteed to reduce high operating costs and make deliveries more efficient,” Aluh said.

According to her, the Forland T5 is manufactured by Forland, the specialised light truck division of Foton, and is powered by an 82-kilowatt DAM 15R petrol engine known for its fuel efficiency and low emissions.

The vehicle is available in both box-body and cabin-and-chassis configurations, allowing customers to customise it for different commercial purposes, including flatbeds, refrigerated vans, mobile clinics, mobile vending units and other specialised applications.

The truck features an air-conditioned cabin with seating for two occupants, manual transmission and hydraulic braking system.

TSS is offering the Forland T5 in 1.5-tonne and 2-tonne variants, while a 2.5-tonne dual-fuel CNG/petrol version is also available to meet varying business needs.

The company said the locally assembled mini truck comes with a one-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty and nationwide after-sales support.

TSS added that the locally assembled vehicle has been priced to improve affordability, with the flatbed version retailing for less than ₦16 million.

Aluh explained that customers could either purchase the cabin-and-chassis model and build a customised body to suit their operations or buy a factory-fitted box-body version.

She also disclosed that TSS can facilitate bank financing arrangements, enabling buyers to spread payments over an agreed period, thereby making vehicle ownership more accessible for businesses.
