Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited (DSWAL) has pledged to strengthen customer service and after-sales support while expanding its commercial vehicle business, as the Lagos State Government called for greater investment in sustainable transportation and local vehicle manufacturing.
The commitments were highlighted at the company’s Customer Service Week dinner in Lagos, where its Managing Director, Hikmat B. Thapa, reaffirmed the company’s determination to build lasting relationships with customers through improved service delivery, technical support and the availability of genuine spare parts.
Thapa expressed appreciation to customers and business partners for their continued confidence in the company, stressing that customer satisfaction remained central to its operations.
He said the company’s responsibility extended beyond selling trucks and buses, noting that effective after-sales support was essential to ensuring vehicle reliability, operational efficiency and customer loyalty.
“Our ambition is not simply to sell more vehicles. Our ambition is to build long-term partnerships with our customers and to become a trusted name in commercial transportation in Nigeria and across West Africa,” he said.
According to him, the company would continue to strengthen its vehicle portfolio, including Sinotruk HOWO trucks and tippers, alongside its passenger bus business, while improving its responsiveness to customers’ needs.
He added that delivering excellent customer service required a collective commitment from every department of the organisation, from sales and technical services to spare-parts supply and customer relations.
Thapa thanked customers for their loyalty and partnership, expressing optimism about further collaboration and business growth.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Transport Operations, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Olasunkanmi Ojowuro, underscored the importance of transportation and logistics to economic growth, calling for greater adoption of sustainable mobility solutions.
Ojowuro said the transport sector must look beyond the movement of people and goods to embrace systems that support economic development while reducing environmental impact.
He noted that the industry was increasingly exploring alternative energy sources, including compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric vehicles, as part of efforts to develop cleaner transportation systems.
The Lagos State official also commended Dangote Sinotruk for investing in local truck manufacturing, noting that domestic production could support economic development, create business opportunities and strengthen Nigeria’s commercial vehicle industry.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives that create an enabling environment for businesses and promote the development of the transport sector.
The discussions also highlighted the need for stronger collaboration among vehicle manufacturers, financial institutions, government agencies and transport operators to improve access to commercial vehicles and accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility.
As part of the dinner, several customers were rewarded with valuable gifts in recognition of their patronage of DSWAL products.
Among the companies recognised were Sunbeath Global Concept Ltd, Olaore Transport Company Ltd, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Dangote Packaging Ltd, Noblax Integrated Service and Tarmez Nigeria Ltd.
About 16 other customers were also recognised for their respective levels of patronage.
The Customer Service Week dinner provided an opportunity for the company to appreciate its customers and business partners while reaffirming its commitment to service excellence, operational improvement and long-term partnerships in Nigeria’s commercial transportation market.
