Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has opened up about her incredible journey of losing weight, sharing that she has lost 87 kilograms over the last five years while speaking against the ongoing body-shaming she faces.

In an emotional post on her Instagram, the actress revealed that she weighed 170kg five years ago but now weighs 83kg in 2026. She explained that this transformation took time and was the result of years filled with discipline, sacrifice, consistency, and a strong commitment to bettering her health.

Badmus described this journey as one of the hardest times in her life. She expressed pride in how much she has accomplished, despite facing both emotional and physical challenges along the way.

However, she noted that rather than celebrating her success, many people who once teased her for being plus-sized continue to criticize her after her weight loss.

“Five years ago, I weighed 170kg. Today, in 2026, I weigh 83kg. This didn’t happen overnight, it required years of discipline, sacrifice, pain, consistency, tears, setbacks, and making my health a priority every single day. It has been one of the toughest journeys of my life, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come.”

“But here’s what saddens my heart, the same people who made fun of my body when I was plus-size are now the ones criticizing me after I’ve lost weight. What do you really want from me?”

Badmus shared that after shedding nearly 90 kilograms, changes to her skin were bound to happen. She emphasized that she is doing everything she can to take care of herself through healthy habits and skincare.

“When someone loses almost 90 kg, it’s totally normal for their skin to change. Of course, my skin will adapt. I’m working hard to look after myself, using collagen, staying healthy, and accepting every part of this journey,” she explained.

She also acknowledged that even though she seldom replies to negative comments online, they still impact her emotionally.

“Just because I don’t react to the hurtful comments doesn’t mean they don’t affect me. It doesn’t show weakness or a lack of feelings. I’m human. I have blood running through my veins just like you do. Words can have real effects.”

The actress encouraged critics to admire the strength and determination behind her transformation instead of pointing out flaws in her looks.

“At my age, I believe I’ve achieved something special. Dropping from 170kg to 83kg is a significant accomplishment. Instead of always pointing out what you think is wrong with my body, why not recognize the strength, determination, and resilience it took to reach this point?”

Badmus also urged women to be more supportive of each other, highlighting that much of the online bullying she faces comes from other women.

“We often say, ‘Women should support women.’ But where is that support when another woman is trying to be healthier and happier? Kindness costs nothing. Let’s stop putting others down because of their bodies.”

She concluded by emphasizing that nobody should be bullied for their body size, whether they are overweight or have lost weight.

“No one deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and no one deserves to be bullied for losing weight either. I’m proud of my journey. I’m still growing, healing, and working towards becoming the best version of myself. You don’t have to love my body, but you can choose to respect it. Be kind. Always,” she concluded.
