President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday evening arrived in Lagos to observe the Easter celebration and inaugurate key infrastructure projects, following a condolence visit to Plateau State.

The President had earlier departed Jos, where he met with victims and families affected by the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba. During the visit, he also engaged with former governors, traditional rulers, and top government officials to assess the security situation.

Tinubu, whose aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 7:20 p.m., was received by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside other dignitaries.

He directed security agencies to track down those responsible for the killings, stressing that the perpetrators must be brought to justice and assuring affected communities of the government’s resolve to restore peace.

The visit to Plateau, he noted, formed part of broader efforts to address the crisis and reassure residents of improved security measures.

While in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to inaugurate several projects executed by the state government, including the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, aimed at easing traffic congestion across the metropolis.

Other projects slated for inauguration include the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, and a newly completed school complex.

Speaking ahead of the ceremonies, Sanwo-Olu said the projects reflected the administration’s commitment to development and improved living standards.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga outlined further engagements for the President.

According to him, Tinubu will travel to Ogun State on Saturday to inaugurate the Gateway International Cargo Airport, as well as two commercial aircraft designated for export and import operations to boost economic activities.

He will also inaugurate the new headquarters of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service and unveil a fleet of operational vehicles to enhance efficiency.

The President is expected to return to Lagos after the Ogun visit to continue the Easter holiday before proceeding to Bayelsa on April 10, where he will inaugurate projects executed by Governor Douye Diri.

Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja at the conclusion of his official engagements.
