The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has said the council will continue its consultations with traditional rulers across the country until January 16, 2027, as part of efforts to seek royal blessings and prayers ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yari disclosed this while addressing journalists after the first inaugural meeting of the APC Presidential Campaign Council directorates at the presidential campaign office in the Central Business District, (CBD), Abuja on Tuesday.

He said the meeting directed the various directorates to develop comprehensive work plans and outline strategies for effectively discharging their responsibilities.

According to him, members of the council must regard their appointments as a demonstration of the confidence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reposed in them and work diligently to justify the trust.

“We directed the directorates to go and work to come up with their work plans and determine how best they are going to carry out this responsibility,” Yari said.

He noted that every member of the council had a responsibility to ensure the successful execution of the assignment entrusted to them by the President.

“We reminded them that we are all here on trust. Each and every person who sits under this roof is a trustee of the President. The President trusted us and gave us this responsibility. We must carry it out well, and very well,” he said.

On the council’s ongoing visits to traditional rulers in different parts of the country, Yari said the consultations were aimed at seeking their blessings and prayers while explaining the campaign’s objectives to the traditional institutions.

He described traditional rulers as important stakeholders because of their closeness to the grassroots and their influence within their respective communities.

“We are still on with traditional rulers. As I said, we are visiting the royal fathers because we seek their blessings. We need their prayers,” he said.

Yari further stressed that the visits would also provide an opportunity to brief traditional rulers on the campaign’s direction and the objectives it hopes to achieve ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Being the authority closest to the masses of the country, we need to go and explain to them where we are and where we want to go,” he added.

The APC campaign council director-general disclosed that the next stop on the consultation tour would be Kaduna on October 24, 2026, after which the engagements would continue across the country until January 16, 2027.

He expressed confidence in the exercise, saying the council would await the outcome of its efforts, while acknowledging God’s role in determining the eventual result.

“So the next point of call is Kaduna, October 24, 2026. From there, the journey continues until January 16, 2027. At the end, by God’s grace, you know the result,” Yari said.
