Nonye Soludo Calls for Dignity, Inclusion on Zero Discrimination Day
Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to treat one another with dignity and respect, regardless of belief, class, creed or physical condition.
Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, made the appeal in Awka to commemorate the 2026 Zero Discrimination Day, observed annually on March 1.
The day promotes equality before the law and is marked by member states of the United Nations.
She said genuine love should rise above discrimination and prejudice in society.
“True love sees no differences, only hearts filled with compassion and a sincere desire to make others feel valued and respected. Respect is the soul of human dignity.
“Discrimination, on the other hand, is the language of barbarism and hate,” she said.
Soludo urged Nigerians to uphold empathy, compassion and inclusiveness in their daily interactions.
“Do your best to treat people with dignity, regardless of their beliefs, class, creed or physical condition. That is how we build a better society for all,” she said.
She called for collective efforts to build a society founded on love, equality and mutual respect.
