Award-Winning Ghanaian Film “Bed of Thorns” Lands Homi TV Streaming Deal

Ghanaian cinema has recorded another major milestone with the acquisition of streaming rights to the award-winning film Bed of Thorns by Homi TV.

The development follows the film’s recognition at the San Francisco Film Festival, where it made history as Ghana’s first film to win an award at the festival.

The production also received recognition at the Abia International Film Festival.

Directed and written by Kenny Dee and produced under Sir Nelson Productions.

Bed of Thorns is a romantic drama that combines suspense, emotional conflict and unexpected twists.

The film features Nelson Emmanuel, Haillie Sumney, Kofi Adjololo and Sylvia Davis in leading roles.

Among the cast is Haillie Sumney, popularly known as “Ghana Goddess,” a Canadian-born, California-raised Ghanaian actress, television personality, brand influencer, philanthropist and entrepreneur. Sumney has appeared in productions including Heels and Sneakers, Real Lagos Fake Life, A Way Back Home, blood vessel on Netflix, and Kintampo on African Magic. She has also worked across Nollywood, Ghallywood and Hollywood and served as a red-carpet host at the 2018 BET Awards.

The Homi TV deal represents a further step in the film’s international journey, making the production accessible to a wider streaming audience.

Bed of Thorns commenced streaming on Homi TV on September 18, 2026.
