The Oyo State Police have arrested two individuals believed to be drug dealers and confiscated eight packages of marijuana thought to be Canadian Loud, which were hidden inside a tire.

The police stated that these arrests happened after they received reliable information on September 2, 2026, regarding a suspected drug dealer operating from a tire repair shop.

In a statement released on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluyinka Ayanlade, the Commissioner of Police for Oyo State, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, instructed the Anti-Narcotics Unit to look into the matter.

Officers then went to the identified tire shop, where they apprehended the two suspects and found the suspected illegal drugs hidden inside a tire. They also seized a vulcanizing machine that was allegedly used to hide the drugs as evidence.

During questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement in the crime and are currently helping police with the investigation.

The police mentioned that once investigations are complete, they will bring charges against the suspects in court. They are also working to identify and catch other members of this alleged criminal group.

This operation is part of the police’s efforts to disrupt criminal networks and prevent illegal drugs from contributing to insecurity in the state.

Additionally, the police warned that an increase in hard drugs could lead to more violent crimes such as cult activities, robbery, kidnapping, and other organized crime.
