The Kwara State Government has confirmed its dedication to the full recovery and well-being of those affected by the recent Woro incident, assuring them of ongoing medical assistance.

Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, the State Commissioner for Health, made this promise during her visit to victims who are receiving treatment at different healthcare facilities in Ilorin, such as the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH).

During her visit, the commissioner evaluated the patients’ recovery, listened to their concerns, and spoke with medical teams caring for them to identify any immediate needs that required government attention.

Dr. El-Imam expressed hope about the progress in treating the victims, pointing out that many are responding well to care and will soon be able to return home to their families.

“The wellbeing of the victims of the recent Woro incident remains a matter of deep concern to the Kwara State Government. Our primary focus remains entirely on their full medical recovery, overall wellbeing, and safe reunification with their families and loved ones,” she said.

She praised Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his quick response and caring leadership, along with ensuring that resources were available for uninterrupted medical care for the victims.

Additionally, she thanked the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for its swift partnership and support in addressing the incident’s impact on the state.

According to Dr. El-Imam, UNICEF’s technical help has boosted the state’s ability to provide essential care and support to those affected.

She reassured both victims and their families that the government would keep monitoring their recovery and provide necessary assistance until they fully recover and can safely reunite with their loved ones.
