Ooni’s Elder Brother, Prince Ogunwusi, Dies

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, shared the sad news about his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi. He described him as a remarkable entrepreneur known for his humility and dedication to helping others.

The king expressed his feelings in a statement released on Sunday by Sodiq Lawal, the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace.

The statement noted that Prince Adetunji’s passing has left an irreplaceable gap in the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty, and all of Ile-Ife Kingdom.

“Born on December 8, 1967, Prince Adetunji was part of the Ojaja line from the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife and held the position of Group Chairman at Primewaterview Holdings,” according to the statement.

The Ooni mentioned that his late brother earned a reputation for excellence, creativity, and visionary leadership in business while also being committed to humanitarian efforts.

“Today, our entire royal family grieves not just for a brother and son but also for a trusted friend, a strong support for our family, and a man whose life showed honor, dignity, and deep compassion.

“His strong commitment to family values, entrepreneurial drive, and true love for humanity will always inspire us,” said the monarch.

The Ooni mentioned that, in addition to his business success, Prince Adetunji made a difference in many lives through his kindness, wise advice, and selfless acts.

He pointed out that the late prince always represented the values of the Ojaja Royal Family by being humble and dedicated to making society better.

While offering his condolences to the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife, the monarch encouraged them to find comfort in the meaningful life his brother led.

“Even though his time on Earth has ended, his legacy will never fade. The Ogunwusi family finds solace in knowing that Prince Adetunji lived a rich life focused on God, family, business, and helping others.

“May the Almighty Olodumare give us all the strength to cope with this great loss,” said the Ooni.

He also prayed for peace for the soul of the deceased and for comfort for his close family, friends, business partners, and everyone he touched with his life.
