Chery Q Expands Electric Mobility Access in Nigeria as Carloha Announces Nationwide Availability

Carloha Nigeria, the official franchise holder, assembler and authorised distributor of Chery vehicles in Nigeria, has announced the nationwide availability of the Chery Q, expanding access to intelligent and practical electric mobility for Nigerian motorists.

The new electric vehicle combines distinctive design, intelligent technology, advanced safety features and aftersales support, while drawing inspiration from Chery’s global “Quest for Joy” philosophy and the heritage of the automaker’s iconic QQ family.

According to Carloha, the Chery Q is designed to meet the needs of young professionals, growing families, first-time electric vehicle buyers and urban motorists seeking a cleaner and more connected driving experience.

The vehicle’s design has received international recognition, including the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award. Its exterior features geometric styling, rounded LED lighting and a modern two-tone interior.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Chery Q offers an 85 per cent space-efficiency ratio. Measuring 4,195mm in length with a 2,700mm wheelbase, the vehicle provides ample passenger space, while its luggage capacity can be increased from 375 litres to 1,450 litres. It also comes with a 70-litre front trunk and 38 storage compartments.

Carloha said the combination of space and practicality makes the vehicle suitable for daily commuting, shopping, family activities and weekend journeys.

The Chery Q is built on a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive platform with independent suspension and balanced weight distribution. Its Electric Power Steering and One-Box Brake-by-Wire system are designed to improve handling, braking response and energy recovery.

The vehicle offers an estimated 400-kilometre NEDC driving range, while its fast-charging capability can recharge the battery from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 16.5 minutes.

It also features Vehicle-to-Load technology, enabling owners to use the vehicle to power compatible electrical devices and outdoor equipment.

Inside the cabin, the Chery Q is equipped with a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. Other technology features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, intelligent voice control, 50W wireless charging, smartphone integration and remote vehicle management through a mobile application.

Safety features include a Level 2 Intelligent Driver Assistance System with more than 20 advanced functions, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent High Beam Control, a 540-degree panoramic camera and Automated Parking Assist.

Carloha said the technology is designed to provide additional assistance to motorists in traffic, parking and other everyday driving situations.

Beyond the vehicle itself, the company is positioning its CarlohaCare 6-6-7 aftersales programme as a key part of the Chery Q ownership proposition.

Under the programme, customers receive a six-year warranty, six years of free scheduled servicing up to 120,000 kilometres and a seven-day repair promise. Carloha said where a repair is not completed within seven days, the company will provide a courtesy vehicle.

The company has also introduced CarlohaCare 6-6-7 Rescue, which provides roadside assistance and a 24-hour assistance line for Chery customers, with limited slots available to non-Chery owners.

Commenting on the arrival of the Chery Q, General Manager, Marketing, Carloha Nigeria, Felix Mahan, said the nationwide availability of the vehicle marked the fulfilment of the company’s commitment to expanding electric mobility options in Nigeria.

Mahan added that the vehicle combines design, technology, practicality, safety, electric range and fast charging, while Carloha’s aftersales programme is intended to give customers greater confidence throughout the ownership period.

The Chery Q is now available at Carloha showrooms nationwide, giving Nigerian motorists another option in the growing electric vehicle market.
