A major security scare in the early hours of Tuesday was swiftly neutralized at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, forcing management to issue an immediate statement reassuring the public and the institution’s community that the situation is entirely under control.

​The incident, which occurred on June 16, 2026, triggered an immediate and coordinated response from security personnel and relevant law enforcement agencies, information reaching newsmen confirmed.

Also, officials confirmed that the threat was neutralized before any harm could be done, and normal administrative and academic activities have since resumed at the prestigious Institute without disruption.

​In a formal statement addressing the situation, Dr. Samuel Osime , the Head of the Public Affairs Department for NIPSS, emphasized that there is currently no lingering threat to the safety of participants, staff, residents, or facilities.

Osime also confirmed that formal investigations have been launched by security agencies to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the early morning breach.

​Amidst growing speculation online, the institute’s management has explicitly distanced itself from unverified rumors, warning the public against relying on details currently circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms.
