Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Leads “Half a Million Walk” to Rally Support for Tinubu Ahead of 2027

In a major political mobilization effort ahead of the 2027 general elections, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa led an extensive solidarity walk on Wednesday, rallying support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid

The initiative, officially tagged the “TinubuDatiwa Half a Million Walk 2027,” saw a massive turnout of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, government officials, civil servants, artisans, and members of civil society organizations.

The event was organized by the TinubuDatiwa Support Group and coordinated by Kehinde Akinrotoye, a former Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Sports.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the impressive turnout, describing the initiative as a “healthy” and commendable grassroots mobilization strategy.

“This is a healthy initiative put together by one of the support groups here in Ondo State in support of the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. It is one of the several activities being organised to mobilise grassroots support ahead of 2027,” the governor stated.

Describing himself as the “foremost patron” of the state’s support groups, Aiyedatiwa noted that his participation was a deliberate demonstration of his solidarity with the cause. He expressed optimism about the political future of the ruling party in the state, making a bold electoral promise.

“By the grace of God, come January 2027, Ondo State will deliver nothing less than one million votes for President Bola Tinubu,” Aiyedatiwa declared.

He further advised all political coordinators to return to their respective local governments, wards, and polling units to intensify grassroots mobilization.

The governor also noted that the walk served a dual purpose, highlighting the physical and mental benefits of exercise for the citizenry.

The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Henry Omoyofunmi, echoed the governor’s sentiments, asserting that the massive participation indicated that the people of Ondo are fully aligned with the APC’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Reiterating the core objective of the event, programme coordinator Kehinde Akinrotoye stated that the walk was specifically designed to galvanize widespread backing across the state’s 18 local government areas and three senatorial districts.

“This Half a Million Man Walk is a testament to the trust and confidence we have in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda. We are committed to this journey, and together, we will succeed,” Akinrotoye affirmed.
