The Nigerian Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) has announced plans to induct a new set of industry leaders at its 2026 ceremony scheduled for May.

The event, which marks the second edition of the initiative, will recognise distinguished aviators for their contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s aviation sector, celebrating individuals whose impact has shaped the industry over the years.

Organisers of the programme, Mr Wole Shadare and Mr Gboyega Adeoye, said in a statement that the ceremony represents the climax of the Aviation Hall of Fame Forum and will bring together policymakers, airline executives and global stakeholders to honour excellence in the sector.

According to them, the induction will feature individuals who have demonstrated resilience, innovation and commitment to safety during a period of transformation in the aviation industry, with the full list of honourees to be unveiled in phases in the coming weeks.

They described the Hall of Fame as a platform to preserve the legacy of key contributors to Nigerian aviation, noting that induction into the body remains one of the highest honours within the domestic industry.

The organisers also disclosed that nominations for the 2026 edition are ongoing, with a panel of seasoned aviation professionals reviewing candidates with outstanding records and measurable impact on the sector.

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, with activities expected to include the display of inductees’ portraits at major airports nationwide as well as the publication of a commemorative magazine documenting their achievements.

At its maiden edition, notable figures including Harold Demuren, Bernard Olumuyiwa Aliu and Anastasia Gbem were among those inducted.

The 2026 ceremony is expected to attract key stakeholders and dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, further reinforcing efforts to celebrate excellence and preserve the history of the country’s aviation industry.
