Chapel Arts Studio (CAS) proudly launches its 2025 Summer Exhibition, Wish You Were Here, a vibrant and immersive showcase featuring 50 selected artists from over 120 nationwide submissions. The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, July 28, 2025, and runs for one month, celebrating art that explores the powerful intersection of memory, place, and longing.

Among the distinguished exhibiting artists is Olamide Jasanya, whose evocative piece titled “Missing” stands out as a deeply moving interpretation of the exhibition’s central theme.

Measuring 20×24 inches and rendered in acrylic, Missing presents a male figure lying nude on a dirt path, encased in thick, almost sheltering foliage. Shades of green, brown, and ochre dominate the canvas, inviting viewers into a tranquil yet mysterious sanctuary. The subject, eyes closed and body softened in repose, appears to dissolve into the earth—not in disappearance, but in communion. The use of layered brushwork, matte and gloss varnish, and deliberate contrasts between skin and foliage creates a sensory depth that captures the viewer in a moment of stillness and reflection.

“This work is a meditation on connection—to the land, to memory, and to ourselves,” Jasanya explains. “Missing doesn’t just reference physical absence; it invokes the yearning for belonging and the quiet joy of finding oneself at rest in nature.”

Wish You Were Here is more than an exhibition—it’s a collective letter to memory and presence. Through diverse mediums and narratives, participating artists respond to personal and collective interpretations of absence, nostalgia, and emotional landscapes.
