Expatriates Business Awards 2025 to honour foreign investors driving Nigeria’s growth
Organisers of the Expatriates Business Awards (EBA) have announced plans for the 2025 edition of the event, which is set to hold on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking at a world press conference held on Thursday, in Lagos, the Director of Awards, Miss Odunola Abayomi, said the event is aimed at celebrating the outstanding contributions of expatriates, foreign-owned businesses, and migrant professionals to Nigeria’s economy.
Abayomi stated that the award is different from others as it focuses on non-Nigerians who have invested, built businesses, created jobs, and contributed significantly to national development.
“Nigeria is a land of opportunities. Many expatriates have come here and added value through their businesses and skills. The Expatriates Business Awards is our way of saying thank you and recognising their efforts,” she said.
She noted that this year’s event will feature exhibitions, musical performances, comedy, and a red-carpet reception, promising a night of elegance and celebration.
According to her, the nomination and selection process is ongoing and includes public nominations, independent research, and opinion polls.
She stressed that the process would be thorough and credible to ensure that only deserving individuals and organisations are honoured.
Abayomi recalled the success of the maiden edition, which featured top personalities including media host Daddy Freeze and Ghanaian actress Ella Mensah, adding that the 2025 edition would build on that legacy.
She called on members of the media, diplomatic corps, business community, and the general public to be part of the upcoming event.
“Let the countdown begin. Let us come together to celebrate excellence, innovation, and diversity that continue to shape Nigeria’s future,” she added.
Also speaking at the event, the Marketing Manager of Euro Contractor, Samuel Ikhuolegbe Irene, commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
Irene said“Aerial Contractors is not just an airline. We operate a strong Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) that services aircraft across West Africa. In our MRO, we work with skilled expatriates who bring technical know-how and innovation.
This aligns perfectly with what TEBA is promoting recognising foreign professionals who contribute to national growth,” he said.
“When you look at the role of expatriates in our economy, it is clear they make meaningful contributions to our GDP. It is only right that we acknowledge them through platforms like this.”
The Expatriates Business Awards is powered by Pun Communications Ltd and runs under the TEBA Foundation for Humanity. The initiative, which started in 2020 as The Ethnic Business Awards, has since been rebranded to reflect a broader vision.
